I need a new television

And don't know the first thing about them.

Can somebody give a brief guide to the current jargon and specifications.
Not one of those awful 42" drug dealer chic televisions but maybe a 32". Also, I don't like widescreen and don't watch sport.

Some recommendations would be nice. Thanks.

just get this one, dont worry about jargon, just enjoy, you cant avoid widescreen its a de facto standard.
