I have recently been informed that I may be redundant in the new year as the company is shutting down a production plant. I believe that based on the redundancy criteria I have a valid case to dispute the redundancy selection criteria as most of my work is not affected by the shutdown and on previous precedents set in selection of earlier redundancies.
In fairness to the company, their redundancy terms are very generous (8.5 weeks per years service). If I dispute the redundancy will I lose this offer? If I bring a case and win, could I be awarded less than if I accepted the amount currently being offered?
