I cant uninstall XP?

It stopps when uninstall bar is almost through.. It recommended I do this as I want to install XP2 and my PC was in an "unstable condition".. It is now displaying "copy error" C:\WINDOWS\$NtServicePackUninstall$ and wont continue to uninstall even when I hit cancel or retry..
Any suggestions?

Is there some other stuff you want to keep on the PC ? Why not format and re-install ?

I think ive solved it.. I uninstalled as much as I could of XP, then ran the XP2 CD and it seems to have worked.. Its also accepting windows updates for the first time..

Make sure you replace your Anti-Virus protection and firewall - immediately!
Would recommend Grisoft's excellent (and free) AVG 7.0; you can download MS Firewall http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/downloads/default.mspx (here) (or perhaps your SP2 automatic updates will already have included it?)
