i dont get it...... you live in swords, there's a swords office ( must be new as i wasn't aware there was one in swords) but you want to go to finglas cause it's closer?
I found out for you no you cant go to finglas, you can only apply to the offices that they say.
There was a huge problem when they closed the office in balbriggan, Everyone now has to travel to the coolock office, there's no direct route it's 2 buses. Swords would of made more sense you can just jump on the 33 bus. Not sure why they decided this?

On their site under the list of local / branch offices it lists both for the Swords area. Doesn't make much sense to go to City Centre if there is one locally. As for Finglas , it's closer than town was my point.

sorry i thought you meant you wanted to go finglas cause it was closer than swords, couldn't fgure it out since you live in swords!! Anyway thats cleared up now.
Since they state you can go to swords or cumberland street i dont see how they can refuse you at swords. But i read that unemployment in swords has risen 71%, i didn't even know there was an office in swords i've always known people to go into town. I dont know how old the article was that i read but they were saying they needed bigger and more permanent offices in swords, not sure if this has actually happened or not, but i can imagine then dont have that many staff so they might tell you to go into town. kinda defeats the purpose of having one in swords in the first place dont you think.
Thanks Sam , they should really have a map on their site where you click your location and are directed to the correct office. I guess I will head to town to be on the safe side.
lol an broc they do. well the citenzens information website does. Well not an actual map but you click on where you live i.e north dublin and then a list comes up where to go depending on what area you live in.
i'd try swords anyway just in case. No point going all the way into town espically first thing in the morning if you dont need to.
Not sure how it works but you make your initial cliam in town will they not make you go there for everything? That would be a pain having to go in to town when you live in swords.
