i presume you are driving / sailing, (luggage charges on ryanair for wine would be a killer).
i usually go to normandie wine (wine warehouse) in Cherbourg. The let you taste the wine before you buy (just have to make sure Mrs N drives afterwards) and have a great selection and very reasonably priced. All the staff speak english too.
