Huge Electiricy Pole In Garden

Hi All,

I am thinking of buying a property but there is a huge electricity pole in my garden. It is one with two poles around 30ft high that sits in the corner of the garden.

I was wondering does anyone know if I can block of a certain part of the garden with a fence but have a gate that is not locked for access incase works etc need to be carried out of are there restrictions?

Does anyone know what is the difference between these electricity poles and pylons?
Are they dangerous for your health.

Would greatly appreciate any advice

AFAIK they are for medium-voltage lines (10-50 kV), while pylons carry 100-400kV.

While there's some disagreement on the subject ( ), my impression is that unless it falls on you or you collide with it, it's harmless. ( [broken link removed] )
Personally, I'd have no safety concerns living next door to one.

The one I have in my garden I think is a double pole circuit 33Kv feeder, my question is would there be any change in the future that they would increase the voltage of this and change it to a pylon?
