Would be grateful for some guidance on how LSI works.
For example on grade V payscales, the first emboldened figure is at point 6 on this scale. Does this mean when someone reaches this, they receive extra pay increase?
The 7th point is the final point on this scale, it is also emboldened. So another increase then?
How much are these LSI's also.

A link to the relevant pay scales would be helpful!

But the public service norm is that after 3 years on the maximum un-bolded salary point, one moves onto the first LSI and remains there for 3 years after which one moves onto the second LSI, and so on, until one reaches the last LSI where one remains until one retires, is promoted or moves to another employment.

UPDATE Do you mean these salary scales? https://www.hse.ie/eng/staff/resources/hr-circulars/final-1-january-2024-pay-scales.pdf

If so, then see note 6 on the third page, called: Guide to the Consolidated Salary Scale

Thank u. Yes that is the salary scale I am talking about.
The line on page 3, point 6, is the one I am looking for clarification on.
So I am 1 year on the maximum unboldened figure. In my mind, I would have moved to next point (point 6) now & remain on it til LSI?

You will be 2 more years on the max (unboldened)

So say upu Increment date is 1st March

Max point inboldned reached 1st March 2020.

LSI i 1st March 2023 point 6
LSI ii 1st March 2026 point 7

At present based on 1 June 2024 scales it will be

LSI i €57,635

LSI ii is €59,635

But it will likely be more as national pay increases will apply.
