how/where to dispose of tiles

Anybody know if there is an environmentally friendly way of disposing of tiles?
 
I presume you mean wall or floor ceramic tiles.
Contact a waste/ skip hire company in the golden pages, most try to avoid going to landfill with stuff like that, so have places where they crush the tiles to make into aggregate for reuse in the building industry as hardcore.
