How to repair a hole in plasterboard?

Hole is about 1 inch in diameter and a bit frayed at the edges.

Polyfilla has always worked for me, Put on in stages if worried about size. Alternatively use bonding if bigger. Then skim over with polyfilla.

If its only an inch go with Polyfilla. Maybe stuff some newspaper in the hole first so it has something to stick to.

cut a length of wood wider than the hole, stick or screw this inside the hole cut a piece of plaster board screw this to the wood and skim it with plaster or filler.

Dampen the plasterboard face at the side of the hole. Get a piece of cardboard about 1.5" square. Pierce a 4'' nail through centre. Fold cardboard a little and push through hole. Pull tight with nail (the nail head will keep it in position) and fill with plaster/filler. Sand smooth when dry.
