I know its an unusual request but with modern times and all that maybe someone has had a similar problem. Im going to try a product called santrax..but maybe someone would have a better suggestion. Would really appreciate advice.

Anything useful on .

I've used Santrax many times in the past to remove things like cement stains from floor tiles. It would need to treated with respect i.e. plenty of ventilation and avoid getting on hands or be careful about eyes etc. IMHO it probably won't work on the red brick but if you have already bought it its worth a try.

We still have a very faint paint stain on our red brick and found it impossible to remove. It has more or less worn off and it was only emulsion and not the dreaded gloss.

Might be worth trying a wire brush. I used one when getting paint off the garden paths (concrete) after painting the house....

Its that spray paint that comes from cans (that kids use!!) i wonder what would be the first port of call ...i think i will try the santrax and then nitromores (the wire brush would probably not suit this job) ....

Sorry, I assumed above that you'd used a spray painter (for emulsion paint) to paint the outside of your house and some of the mist had just been accidentally carried on the breeze to unintended areas, not that it was a graffiti style aerosol.

There are specialist graffiti removal solvents such as the [broken link removed] and ranges, but I'd say they're probably expensive. No harm ringing to check though.

Dublin City Council has a [broken link removed] (for public areas, not private houses) and they have some [broken link removed] that might work for various surfaces. However, for masonry they seem to favour power washing.

They indicate that the fresher it is when you tackle it, the more likely it is to come off.
