How to pursue a career in SAP..?

Has anyone got any ideas on what part-time study would be usefull in trying to pursue a career in SAP or something similar? Is there a particular cert, diploma or degree that would be beneficial in this field.

I have a technical background in the semiconductor industry, with about ten years experience. I have a certificate in maintenance technology but I am interested in a change (get away from shift work etc.) and hoping to go back studying to achieve it.

If anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated.
 
If you do become SAP certified try to make the thing a lot more user friendly because it's user hateful at the moment.
