How to kill a 8 foot palm tree

Hi

I bought a house which had some prof landscaping done couple of years back. However, a palm tree was planted very close to the back of the house.

I always assumed it was only going to grow to a particular height. At this stage I am getting very weary as to how it might potentially impair the structure of the house as the roots would be very close to the back wall of the house.

Any advice as to how I might be able to kill the tree. Taking the tree up is definitely a non-runner as there is a path close to the tree which would need to be taken up etc

Thanks in advance!

Had a similar problem. Just cut it down right to ground level. New green shoots will pop up over time so just keep it trimmed, dont allow it to grow back that much. No need to go digging up the roots.

I cut one down about 12 years ago, cut it right down to the ground, drilled holes in the top of it and poured aload of salt down it,haven't seen it try to grow since
