How to grab still images from a DVD

does anyone know how to grab still images from DVD? Also is it possible to grab short sections of 'action'?

Depends how handy you are with a PC - easiest way i can think of to grab a still image would be to play the DVD on your PC and pause at the relevant frame then use a screenshot app or printscreen.

To grab a section, you could use a DVD ripper to extract the movie itself then use something like windows movie maker to cut it up the way you want.

I use VLC Media player, has a handy screengrab facility that saves as a PNG file that can then be printed like a photo.
