How to go direct to mailbox on a landline?

I know how to do this on a mobile (great for situations you want to avoid). Is there any way to bypass ringing and go direct to mailbox on an Irish landline?
 
I knew someone would ask! Just add 5 to the 087, 086 code to make a four-digit prefix. e.g. 0875 xxx xxxx. Direct to mailbox. Great!

Not great if the person you are calling doesn't have mailbox set up and you inadvertently reinstate it by using this.

Agree though, it's good for those situations you want to avoid. I'm not aware of a way to do it with landlines though.
