I actually was able to speak to a human multiple times, you just need to use proper words to connect to a human (all generic queries will be answered by AI). And for security stuff (like lost card, locked thing) it’s always humans in my experience.
 
If you type the words "human agent" or similar in to these chat bots, they will divert to a person.

And I agree w the auto top up. I never set it up, but the advice should now be to disable it.
 
As a Metal customer, I don't understand these complaints about live chat.
Just start it with 'Chat with a live agent' and 1 minute later you will have a real agent connected. Recently, they also started offering a phone call to discuss the issue but never used that.
 
Checked with Revolut and Metal does prioritise you. Not sure if it's a human though. It's expensive - €17 a month.
