How to get rid of smell...

I stupidly left my hiking boots out site the back door at the weekend and my cat used it as a urinal. I have tried odour eaters etc to no avail.

Any tip on how to get rid of the cat pee smell

The boots were a tad expensive so I dont want to risk them in a cold wash.

i think bread soda is supposed to be the miracle cure for odours, sprinkle some in each shoe and leave to sit for a couple of days.
