How best to do this ?

Is it simply get a plumber in? What should be looked at ?

If there was a damp poatch around the toilet-bowl - is it indicative of further problems?

With Shower frames, you would expect it to be sealed on both sides i.e. wall to frame, and frame to tiles? We've been told the frame-to-tiles part is unnecessary. Also surely frame fittings include covers for the top i.e. something to ensure water couldn't get down into the frame? (This is the reason we were told the frame to tiles is unnecessary as it would prevent water getting out of the frame!?)

Are you not getting an engineer to look at the structure? Make sure he has insurance. Doubt if he looks into the fabric of the building though. Is this a one off build, or from a developer?

Personally I'd be very wary of anything build in the last 10 years, and have no faith at this stage in many of the certificates that were dished out like confetti.

We had an engineer look at the structure.

This is re the bathroom showers and plumbing.
