How to clean blinds?

Can anyone recommend how to clean white blinds? They are only few years old, but have a load of dead flies etc stuck into them. Have tried cif etc. Any help?

Sugar soap - you can get it in a spray bottle from B&Q etc. Great stuff but take care... use gloves.

To remove flies and such it might be worth a try using a vacuum cleaner with the brush attachment.

If you want to actually wash them, make up a mild solution of washing up liquid in lukewarm water in a bath or basin and swirl them around in them. Dry them on a clothes horse afterwards

I've heard people complain in the past that when they tried washing the blinds they shrunk or lost their shape? Perhaps some are better quality material than others so one needs to be careful?

I used this method for my works ones, they wouldn't have been very expensive and came out really well. I think as long as you aren't too vigorous with them, they should be ok!
