How to change BT broadband IP Address?

Hi, I'm with BT broadband and need to change my IP address for security reasons, is it possible to do this myself without having to phone them up (and no doubt have to wait days on hold! :rolleyes:).

Great, will that do it? I thought that broadband had fixed IP addresses as opposed to modems.

I believe that BT broadband has almost fixed IP addresses, or at least long-term fixed (until they do a pool rejig). As far as I recall, there was an extra charge on the basic package to have a fixed IP address and the next level up came with a fixed address. So I suspect you will end up with the same IP address whether you are on the basic or next level up package.

So I think you will have to call them.

Note: I haven't used them in two and a half years, so it may have changed since then - apologies if it has.
