How to cash a US dollar cheque?

Did a few checks on this forum and can see a suggestion for opening a US dollar account in Anglo Irish or Fexco. But wanted to see if anyone had any up to date advice. Time isn't critical - paying the lowest transaction fees is.

There normally is no fee for lodging it into your a/c, bar the transaction cost if you haven't got free banking.
Is it a very large cheque ?

If you have a usd cheque made to you then you are the only person that can cash it. Try anglo, boi, aib and currency.ie and see who offers the best rate. Although you would need a bank to provide a usd facility it might not be that bank that would offer the best rate
