How to calculate tax on random bonus?

Hey.

How can I accurtely calculate tax on a bonus.. it's a random bonus the boss is giving out and everyone is wondering what there pay packet will be at the end of the month.

Lets say normal salary before tax is €3000 and bonus is €6000 - single person no kids.. normal tax credits etc.

can anyone help me out ?

If you have earned 3,000 per month each month so far then you are going to pay 41% Income Tax, 4% PRSI and 7% USC - 52% tax!!!

+1 ... which means your €6,000 bonus turns into €2,880 after tax (ouch!)
