The Commission for Aviation Regulation is responsible for the licensing of tour operators and travel agents under the Transport (Tour Operators and Travel Agents) Act, 1982, as amended by the Package Holidays and Travel Trade Act, 1995. Under this legislation, a person must hold a licence in order to operate as either a travel agent, or tour operator. In general terms, the two requirements that must be satisfied in order to obtain a licence relate to the financial standing of the intended tour operator or travel agent, as well as fitness and suitability to carry out either of these activities.

Thanks very much for all your help guys much appreciated. I wonder what the insurance costs are for a travel agent too, anyone any ideas on this?, i.e. what type of insurance I would need
