How things have changed...

Got to thinking today, discussing a project I'm working on how overall design has changed and adapted to cultural changes.

For example the old American Chryslers used to be built with high roofs so that men with hats could sit upright.

Anyone think of other examples.....

Seat/leg room on airplanes although nothing too cultural about it.. purely financial..

I think the biggest design changes in recent years have been due to universal accessibility. Generally speaking, new public buildings, transport etc. have various accessibility features built in. In the past, they were retro fitted or absent.
