How safe a platform is Degiro?

I've just opened an account with Degiro. I'm thinking about buying a certain stock. How safe a platform is Degiro? What would happened to my investment if they went bankrupt? I've read their blurb, but there were a couple of points that made me feel a bit unsure. Would appreciate any insights or comments on this!

I moved from Campbell O'Connor to Davy Select last year mainly because I had share certificates. I am selling shares now and the 0.5% commission is very high. I am thinking of moving to Degiro. https://www.degiro.ie/ As far as I can see, it's a clear best buy as long as you are prepared...
