Depends on the age of the house and some other factors, but probably in and around 300 + VAT.

Last I checked it was between €275 - €350 in the Dublin area for a building survey prior to purchase.
HTH
PS
Michael O'Malley - O'Malley Surveyors in Baldoyle would charge in that range AFAIK

the louth area is 130E i know because had my home surveyed just before purchase in december

X-man that seems very cheap - are you sure you don't mean a valuation survey for mortgage purposes which would normally cost €130 approx.
I'm referring to a condition survey which would be in the price range mentioned.
If it was a condition survey, please share your contact - I'm sure many of the AAMers would be delighted to have it

X-Man , who did you get in the Louth area ? Im looking for one there ?

I got a quote today from a valuer to get just a bank valuation and the fee is E150 ex VAT!! Does anyone know of anyone cheaper (preferably northside Dublin)?

Some estate agents will do a valuation survey for you. It is purely to reassure the bank that the property is to the value of the mortgage.Should cost about €130.
A structural survey is for the purchasers benefit and probably will cost around €300
