I would think it depends on the year of the van and if it falls under the new emissions based tax system or the old engine sized system. You will also need to check the actual engine size in terms of cc because from 1801 to 1900 cc is taxed at €164 per quarter but an engine size of 1901 to 2000 is taxed at a rate of €173 per quarter

will it not also need to be reclassified as a private vehicle and any outstanding vat/vrt cleared on it ?
