How much to knock down conservatory?

Anyone know roughly how much it would cost to knock down a conservatory?

I'm considering buying a house but the conservatory is taking up most of the back garden. I have no desire for a conservatory and would really like some garden space.

Thanks!

some people sell them, perhaps give away for free to who ever can collect (although maybe an insurance issue).

Thanks, that's really interesting. I'm extremely ignorant of anything to do with DIY but I assume you would need a builder to dismantle it all?

You can put an ad in the papers and say you've a conservatory for free. Depending on its condition someone might be willing to take it away, or maybe some of it's components make individual windows.

No you don't need a builder you could tackle it yourself or get a handyman to help you and hire a skip. Glass tough has to be handled carefully.

Thanks a million, it looks to be in really good condition so I'm sure someone else would be glad to have it, I just didn't realise that they could be dismantled so easily. I'm delighted with this!

It will depend on the conservatory if it can be disbanded easily or not and it also depends on the expertise of the person doing so.

I know a house that took down their sunroom and built an extension and rebuilt the old sunroom again onto the new bit.

Advertise it for sale on Done Deal .... purchaser (covered by own insurance) dismantles it.

Research how much you want for it first.

purchaser (covered by own insurance) dismantles it.

If the purchaser is a private individual, I doubt their insurance would cover such work. It'd more likely fall under your own public liability insurance unless the purchaser made specific arrangements. Something to discuss with your insurance provider perhaps.
