How much should you donate to church for anniversary mass

We have a mass booked in a local catholic church for my dads anniversary - it is the normal Sunday mass but is offered specifically for his intentions.

I would say 20 euro. a priest announced off the altar lately that some people give 10 euro for a mass which they don't mind but what he objected to was the same people included every dead relation they knew. 10 euro per person was his point. If the priest knows things are tight financially for you as they are with a lot of people he should accept 10 euro. I'm sure there are people who give 50 euro.

I'm not Christian but my wife is. I insist that she gives €50 to the church on the basis of the priest is doing the favour not the church.

I would agree with mercman, 10 - 20 euro seem fair. I normally give 20.

I would give €20, especially as it is included in the usual Mass itself.
