How much of a tax refund?

Hi,
I will be leaving my job at end of april 2009, so 4 months pay for 2009.
I currently earn circa 4k a month gross
I have a monthly tax credit of €305

Note: I plan to go travelling at beginning of July so I will be going on the dole for 2months(is this the best option from tax point of view i.e. affecting my credits)

So before I go travelling I will sign the form saying i wont work anymore in 2009 and I hope to be able to claim a tax refund of:
-Unused tax credits - this will be €305 * 6mths yes?
-Difference between the amount of tax i have paid at higher band and standard band(as i will not exceed the standard band in 2009).

Is all of the above correct? Am i missing anything? And if this is correct, roughly how much should I hope to be refunded?

Thanks a mill

Why will you be going on the dole for 2 months instead of working OR seeking work??
You obviously have enough savings to go travelling or have I missed something?

Bear in mind that to qualify for dole you must be available for and actively seeking work.

If you are leaving work through the employer letting you go there ahould be no problem provided you are available for and actively seeking work. If you decide to pack in work, you may have difficulty qualifying for dole. The DSFA write to the employer requesting details of why the employment ceased to assess that it is a genuine lay off.

Basically I have a 3.5 year contract which ends on 30/4/2009. I dont thin i would be offered a new contract anyways, but I want out. Now yes I will stick my cv into a couple of jobs, but my brother did this and when he applied for dole they didnt ask for any rejection letters or anything of the sort.
The reason for the dole is that I have enough saved and would like to chill for the remaining 2months. I know its extremely lazy and maybe selfish in todays climate but ive worked hard for 3.5years and paid a lot of taxes so why not.

Can anyone help with regards the estimate of the tax refund?
