I have the footing poured for about 28ft of dividing wall 6ft high with 4 pillars. Block on edge.

The question I have is. Given that its an old stock DIY man in his 70s doing the block work. (I trust him with my life). I'm guessing he will be slow.

Is it worth buying in mortar for such a job if it might take 2-3 days. or wold it be better to mix it myself for him.

I estimate 600kg sand to 200kg cement. dont know if i need lime?

I think he suggests the shovel approch. Is a mixer cheaper easier for a job of this size.

I think its about 150 blocks.

You could get ready mixed 3 day mortor dropped on the day and it will last for the 3 days. Costs about €180 per cubic meter.

I think I might have to go down the Mixer route.

Have a small bit of general purpose stuff to do around the place aswell.

Got a costing of €36+vat for the mixer

est I need 600kg sand think its cheap enough. dont know about delivery

cement bags are cheap and lime cant be that expensive.
