How many cars are actually on the road

Hi

Does any one know where I could find out how many cars there are on the road in Ireland, Northern Ireland and the England?

For Ireland, contact the CSO, the http://www.environ.ie/en/ (Dept. of the Environment) should be able to tell you how many cars have paid-up tax. UK's equivalent bodies should help there.

Of course this will never take into account foreign registered vehicles.
