How long to wait for means test?

Hi all,

I am currently awaiting a means test.
My JSB has run out and i have now applied for JSA.
I am now on week 10 with no payments and am beyond feeling the crunch!!
I've had to borrow money from my mam becasuse myself and partner earn €6 per week over the maximum income allowed in order to qualify for "supplementary welfare allowance".....they do not take into account that we have a lot of outgoings (including 2 mortgages unfortunately)!

Does anyone know how long i could be waiting for a means test, girl in welfare office was no help, she didn't know and said 9 weeks wasn't that long at all.....eeek!
 
Did they not take the information for the means test before your JSB ran out? That's what they try to do, to minimise any waiting time.

Have you presented documents, showing the household income yet?
 
Just to come back on this one for anyone who might have the same query again.

Revenue did NOT take any details from me OR give me any warning that my payments were about to stop.

I am 16 weeks now without any payments at all.

The means assessor came out to me at around 13 weeks and i am now waiting for the claim to be processed.
Again, which they can give me no indication of how long that may take.

16 weeks with no payments and no warning to prepare myself for such is such a joke! It's hard enough trying to survive with the little bit of help but i've had to get a temporary loan from a family member just to keep me going until this is sorted.

Joke of a system!
 
Hi guideanna, Reading your post here re JSB to JSA and reading a different post under name "guideanna" re tax underpayment with you trying to clarify if your employer will deduct over a two year period etc., how can you claim JSA and be employed ?

Perhaps I'm missing something or are there two posters with same user name ?
 
Revenue aren't responsible for Jobseeker payments - it's the Department of Social Protection.

Have you asked at your local office where you sign on what the delay is?
