How Long to Obtain a Copy of Data Held On File By Your Bank?

We are having difficulties obtaining a copy of the data my mortgage company hold on file for us. It has been some time since we requested this information. We have called them but we keep getting put off and told we will receive it soon.

What is the average time scale that such information would take to gather?
 

There is no set time or average, I think. However, if you request the data in writing under the Data Protection Acts (1988-2003) and enclose a fee of €6.35, they would have 40 days (calendar not working) to get the information back to you, after that you can complain to the Data Protection Commissioner www.dataprotection.ie.
