How long to get new pasport while in london

Does anyone know how long it takes in practice for a new poassport to be issued from the london irish passpot office?

Are we talking 2-3 days or months or what?

I assumed there was an exzpress service that would charge more but get the job done in 48 hours or something.

But i don'think that exists after all.

It took my brother about 9 weeks earlier this year.These passports are still made in Dublin.

Last time I got a passport from the Irish Passport office in London it was delivered to me incredibly quickly after I applied .. I think it was about 3 or 4 days after handing in the form that it was delivered to my home address in London (from being issued in Dublin)

Maybe I just got lucky, but it was incredibly fast in my experience - this was about 3 years ago
