How long should the process of changing lenders take? I am thinking of moving from my ICS 3.35%tracker but don't want to get into a process that drags on for ages.I still owe €65000 over 15 years- should I be able to get a better deal?
You will get a better deal, given the amount you owe, however you need to factor in the cost of remortgage, it would normally cost €950 and should take about 6 weeks to complete
Ulster bank are doing a low cost legal transfer deal. They can transfer you to a tracker and the legal end will not cost as much. I think it is around €450-but not to sure on the figure!
have you asked ICS to switch you to their tracker variable of 2.95%? you can advise them that you are aware the AIB/Ulster Bank have this rate, and you are considering leaving ICS!!, they might play ball
