This is a question for anybody who sold a house in the last while.

I put my house on the market last month and I got an offer for it for the full asking price. I was delighted so I agreed. Anyway the booking deposit was paid a few days back and I was up with my solictor yesterday to sign a form to request my deeds from the bank.. The buyers banks is sending an assessor out to value the hosue on Tuesday. Anyway my question is.. How long on average should it take from now until I move out?

Im going to rent for a year before I move out of Dublin and then plan to buy a house. The couple who are buying are moving out of rental accomodation so luckily there is no chain. I can move out any time in May. Could the process be finished by then do you reckon??

Thanks

it can be quick, if they are loan approved and want to move in asap, but the quickest I have ever witnessed was about 6 weeks, but usually I would say 2 months. It really all depends on their situation.
Mortgage companies are certainly not busy at the minute but as someone who deals with them on a daily basis, I can tell you that they are certainly still as slow as ever.

hi i went sale agreed in janurary there and we have been given the 26th of may as the date with close of sale, and moving out... i was wondering the same thing-how long will it take... as soon as the house gets the sale of contract it is more or less written in stone, we are awaiting that at present......xx

Keep pushing your solicitor, with many clients they are under no pressure to move your conveyancing first unless you apply pressure.

Can be done in 6 weeks.
