How long after plastering can you move in?

Hey All Self Builders,

Really anxious to get into our house before Xmas. The inside is being plastered next week, (2000sq ft) and we are ordering our kitchen this week. How long do you think it will take to move in after that. We also have to put down the floor yet (after the plumber is finished)!!
Paying rent and a mortgage so eager to get going, thanks

The truth is itt all depends how quick the plumber is and the carpenter for the second fix stuff and the kitchen fitter - and the painter......
Do you have floor screed to lay and floor insulation ? Also the electrician will need to come back and finish off. If you can keep on top of all these (assuming you are sourcing them all yourself) - then you could be finished in 3 - 4 months. If they mess you about - then it could be after christmas. We got our house plastered by end of May 2005 and moved in Aug 19th 2005 - all finished and decorated.
