Hi,
For anyone who has moved into an affordable place.....roughly how long did it take for everything to go through once you got your provisional offer letter? Mine should be on its way next week but just wondering how long it will be after that arrives that I can move in!
Hi,
I would love to know exactly same thing.I rang DDA today to ask how long it will take to close the sale but they couldnt give me an answer. Are you with DDA or DCC??
I got the offer letter from the DDA dated the 20th of November 2007. I am only doing my viewing tomorrow. I would guess it will be at least another 3 or 4 months from me paying my deposit tomorrow. So from my DAA offer last November I reckon a lead time of 8 months. That said I have been on the list since early 2006, so what’s another few months. Waiting is something that I have become very good at after dealing with the DCC/DDA J still I am not complaining as it’s a great deal as far as I am concerned.
It is a great deal. Its just DDA didnt sign any bank yet to go ahead with paper work conected with mortgages.DDA cant even say when they expecting to close sales.
Do you mind me aksing what bank are you with??
Hope viewing will go gud and you will like property. Let me know how you get on.
I have heard about the bank issue alright. I thinking of going with ebs, although I have had a pay review since the offer so I am going to have a quick call around them all to see what they quote me. As I said may june for a sale close will suit me fine. I am looking forward to having my own place but a bit stressed about the thoughts of handing out loads for a mortgage! So a few more months of mortgage freedom seems like a good thing! I should also have plenty of savings at that stage too. I will post up how my viewing went anyway tomorrow! What development did you get your offer in and what bank are you thinking of using?
I got my letter on the 7th Dec - still waiting to move in.
There are loads of little things that keep slowing the process down - mostly red tape to be honest.
I have to wait ages for the mortgage approval, then there was a re-val involved and now its more paper work - but i hope to be in soon.
best of luck to you
