how far will bank look at arrears

Hi,

myself and partner applying for mortgage this week, have deposit, and good income. we got our credit reports thou and they have a couple of arrears on them not much but mine showed being in arrears of 1 month for 3 months in a row, and 2 months arrears for another 2 months directly after that. they wer then cleard and loan and arrears cleared this december. partner has arrears on loans but were from approx 2/3 years ago, nothing since.

Will this have a huge effect on us??? we proving rent and savings for last 3 and a half years. rent 800 and saving 600 a month last 4 months
 
I'm no mortgage broker and know of no-one who applied for one recently but I'd imagine your chances are slim-none.

The banks are likely to have enough applications with perfect credit histories to meet their quotas for lending at the moment.
