What can you use to descale an Iron? It appears to be blocked with Limescale. Is this possible? I am trying to Iron School Uniforms? Any suggestions would be grateful.

Thanks

I've never actually done it but I'm told the following is how to descale an iron -

Pour a solution of half vinegar and half water into the water section and leave the iron overnight. In the morning switch it on to steam and, holding the iron over the sink, the dirt comes out of the holes on the soleplate.

Apparently if the iron is badly scaled you might need to repeat the descaling.

You can buy a descaling product in your supermarket for irons, kettles etc., Very simple and easy to use. Try not to use tap water in future as it builts up limescale. I'm told rainwater is best or previously boiled water (cooled obviously before use).
