How do you check voicemail from the uk?

I am a gomo customer. I was in the uk and could not access my voicemail.

I tried 171. It said “please enter the phone number “ I did, but it didn’t work.

I dialled 00 353 86 5 followed by by number but that didn’t work either.

Update: I figured it out. After dialling 171, when you hear your own voice message, you hit the # button. I was using the * button.

There's usually a full length number that ends in 171 that you can dial from abroad. I'm not familiar with the gomo number. I think 3 use +353 833333171, for example
