how do i take my name off a joint cu account

both my husband and I have a joint account, it was his account and we put my name on it as i was bringing money in and paying off the loan but couldn't ask anything about the account, so we made it a joint account. now I want to take my name off it. there is a loan on the account. will the credit union let me take my name off it?? I no longer live in Ireland.

If there is a loan on the account, then presumably you both borrowed it? Is it being repaid? And always on time? How much are the shares versus the loan. Being abroad shouldn't make any difference.
