how do i stop service messages?

i am an o2 mobile user and recently have been getting service messages containing sports quiz questions.i never signed up for these and i am getting charged whether i open the message or not. anyone know how to stop these coming through? thanks
 
I believe that you reply with the message 'STOP' and that should work.

If that doesn't work then get onto O2.
 
Yea if you call O2 and ask them to contact the provider requesting them to unsubscribe you that will do it.
 
Here's a previous thread you might find interesting. I think it's disgraceful that people can be "accidentally" subscribed to these "useful" services.
 
thanks folks,i looked back to those previous threads and then phoned 02 to find that i had somehow subscribed to "zamano".hopefully its sorted.
