My builder wanted to fit all my ok door jams before plastering but I was advised not to do this and use liners instead, liners to match width of jam. Now window boards he is saying fit after palstering but for a snug fit I believe they should be fitted before plastering!! How do I keep them clean from plaster? I also have to get the wood acclimatised or it not necessary for window boards??

if you have to fit them before plastering, make sure you give them a coat or two of sanding sealer before they are fitted, at least it will protect them some what.

Thanks,

thanks for that, how can I ensure a snug fit if I fit them after plastering?

It should be a straight forward job to fit them after plastering, nothing too complicated for a carpenter

I fitted them after the greycoat, but before the skim coat. Once the greycoat had dried, I cut out for the window board to let it in a bit. I also got them sprayed before fitting to seal them. Then covered them in cardboard and duck tape.
