Do you think there is a judgment mortgage? or do you think there is a bank mortgage?
You can ask a solicitor to have a Law Agent carry out a Land Registry or Registry of Deeds search - your solicitor who handled the purchase will be the one who knows what kind of title it is. Or you can get in touch with the Land Registry if you know your property is registered and they can check the folio.
Or just check the letters at home - if you think there is a debt/judgment mortgage. Its not easy to get a judgment mortgage without a lot of court papers floating around.
