How do I create a video using information on-screen

Hi all

I'm looking to make a video which would be of me talking over information which would be on my screen (e.g. powerpoint slides or pdf files). Is there any special software/hardware I need for this?

Please see the following link for an example of the type of video I am talking about (though mine won't relate to gambling).

Camtasia as mentioned is probably one of the better ones for pc. There is also cam studio.
You can't beat quicktime for a mac.
