How do I claim my VAT Back

I am registered for VAT and want to to claim Vat back on some purchases mu company made?

Also, my accountant has left me in a mess. In Feb he began claiming VAT back on some puchases. I still have not receive the VAT back. Where can I check the status of this claim?

Did you complete a VAT 3 return form? Should you be accounting for VAT on your sales? If you have other taxes due Revenue will not refund your VAT

Best thing to do is call the Revenue and have your VAT number to hand. Ask the revenue for a printout of all your VAT claims. This will confirm to you if your accountant has actually filed the returns. Also, if your vatable sales exceed your vatable purchases a refund would not be forthcoming.
