I've about 10k in US dollars in Ameritrade (formerly Datek) online shares,
does anyone know the best way to get this in euro into my AIB account??
The money hasn't moved in years, its from a previous job,
We need some of the money now to do something useful in the house.
When I checked with Ameritrade online - the only option I can see is a cheque send via post in US dollars make out to me for 1000 US dollars (this is the amount we need in a hurry), no doubt AIB will have me over a barrel and charge the earth for converting this - this has no basis in fact, it's just a perception from years of being overcharged by AIB for basic stuff.
Anyway, if ye know of a better way of doing this, we need the advice.
