Hi. I had a lump deposit in Anglo and got a letter a while back fom AIB saying that they were taking over the accounts but no information on how I can access these funds. I need to make a withdrawal - can anyone please help?

Thanks

You can transfer the funds to another account online if you have a day to day current account. Failing that I presume you can go into an AIB branch and ask to withdrwa proding you have ID.

Thanks for the reply elcato - much appreciated. I can still access my account via the Angloconnect website but you could never transfer funds this way. I guess my best option is to call into and AIB branch and take it from there.

I have set up a transfer facilty from AngloConnect which I can do online. I may have had to ring them to set it up though.

I still ring my local Anglo branch, ask to be put through to personal savings (to avoid the 1890 call charge) and request transfers to my designated bank account in the usual way. I didn't realise this could be done online, elcato?

AIB Direct accounts are not serviced in AIB branches, they are currently serviced via a call center.

Some of the legacy accounts are also serviced via Anglo Connect and via Anglo branches.

Hi everyone. Just in case someone else finds themselves in the same boat, here is the number to use - 1850 442222. This actually gets you through to Anglo staff (I guess working for AIB). It was also explained to me that although the Anglo sign has been taken down, the Stephens Green branch is still open

Actually, I got it wrong. I have my anglo account set up from my current account so I can put money in but not withdraw online. Sorry for the confusion. I work close to the stephens green branch and they always have the details to hand without me having to supply my CA numbers.
