How a gift affects FTB status

Just a quick question. I've had a trawl through here and revenue.ie and have formed the opinion that in purchasing a house as an FTB, my status will not be affected by receiving a gift from a non FTB (just under €25k can be received tax free from a non relative). Is this correct?
 
Yes - your FTB status would only be affected if, for example, a non FTB contributed the money towards the purchase and sought some beneficial ownership in the property even if they remained off the property/mortgage deeds. If it's a straightforward gift of cash to you then your FTB status should not be affected at all.
